Recent cancer support events across Aotearoa

Peer-events, which occur monthly at Canteen, provide rangatahi with a platform to explore new experiences and connect with others who understand their journey.

Our Youth Workers host events all across Aotearoa to ensure that all rangatahi get the support they need.

In Hamilton, the crew had a fantastic time at a pottery workshop, where rangatahi designed, molded, and painted their own clay creations. It was a great chance for them to connect, share their experiences, and enjoy themselves.

Rangatahi in Rotorua had an incredible opportunity to explore the Redwoods Treewalk. They were able to take in the stunning natural environment, stargaze, and take their mind off cancer.

In Tāmaki Makaura, rangatahi enjoyed a night at the museum, participating in a scavenger hunt and discovering a wealth of fascinating information and facts. And of course, no Tāmaki Makaura event is complete without pizza!

Rangtatahi at events

These peer events play a vital role in the lives of rangatahi, providing them with opportunities to forge connections, alleviate feelings of isolation, and simply enjoy life. The power of community and support was palpable throughout the day, reminding everyone of the strength found in unity and shared experiences.

Events like this highlight the importance of creating spaces where rangatahi connect, share the tough stuff, and get a break from cancer. They serve as reminders that, even in the face of difficulty, there is magic to be found in connection and community.
