Canteen Aotearoa is the only national charity dedicated to supporting rangatahi aged 12-24 impacted by cancer, whether through their own diagnosis, cancer in their whānau, or grief and loss.
Canteen provides evidence-based, free psychosocial support that focuses on the long-term emotional and social wellbeing of rangatahi:
- connections with peers who understand what they're going through, at events run by our Youth Workers
- individual support and counselling
- therapeutic support through a range of programmes and camps
- specialised online support services for rangatahi through our app Canteen Connect
- leadership skills, development grants and career guidance
Canteen was founded over 35 years ago by a small group of rangatahi with cancer, and today, they continue to guide the organisation at every level. Read our annual reports.
