Who we are

Rich Text 1

Canteen Aotearoa is the only national charity providing free psychosocial support to rangatahi aged 12-24 impacted by cancer, whether through their own diagnosis or cancer in their whānau.

Canteen provides:

  • Peer connection: opportunities for rangatahi to connect with others who understand what they're going through at peer events.
  • Counselling and individual support: a safe space to share the tough stuff with professional individual support.
  • Therapeutic support: programmes and camps designed to provide support, personal growth and respite in a safe space.
  • Online support: tools and services accessible anytime, anywhere for rangatahi and whānau.
  • Rangatahi development: Leadership programme and pathways for confidence growth, skill building and development.

Canteen was founded over 35 years ago by a small group of rangatahi with cancer, and today, rangatahi continue to guide the organisation at every level. Read our annual reports.
