Meet other rangatahi who understand what you’re going through and have some fun at the same time.

Face-to-face
Peer Events

Canteen runs regular in-person peer events to help rangatahi connect, unwind, and take a break from cancer. Held frequently in our hub cities—Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch—these events range from game nights and creative workshops to outdoor adventures. Our team also travels to regional cities and towns to host events, making sure rangatahi across Aotearoa have the chance to meet others who just get it. These fun, relaxed gatherings offer a space to be yourself, make new friends, and build a sense of community and support close to home.

Online
Peer Events

Canteen’s online events make it easy for rangatahi to connect, no matter where they are in Aotearoa. Perfect for those who prefer joining from the comfort of home or need a more flexible way to socialise, these events are run through Canteen Connect and include everything from baking nights and book clubs to trivia and creative sessions. Online events offer a welcoming space to have fun, meet others going through similar experiences, and be part of the Canteen community—no travel needed.
